The Three Most Common FSTs

The walk and turn is the one most are familiar with and consists of walking in a straight line, touching toe to heel, while counting the steps and then turning around and walking back. With this test the officer is looking to see if you followed his instruction correctly and if you are keeping your balance and touching toe to heel. Finally the stand on one leg test is to check your balance, in this test you have to lift one leg off the ground a couple feet, with your hands at your side, and count up from zero.
